Job position: Senior Project Accountant (Singapore - Pulau Bukom,South West)

You will be expected to provide the oversight on Globally Integrated SAP (GSAP) activities – comprising Project/Assets, Procurement, Reporting, Hydrocarbon for Bukom Refinery, which is one of the largest refinery in Shell Group. You will support the Finance Manager in building the team and to provide high quality finance services in a practical, business directed and commercially oriented manner. This is a unique opportunity for growth and exposure - given that the organisation is migrating to a Global SAP platform and in the longer term incorporating the finance support of a major investment.

You will actively participate in global manufacturing finance network to share best practice with other refineriesas well as to implement best practice/standards of finance related process, system and framework in a practical manner for Bukom Refinery.

You will play a leading role in finance for project evaluation and maintain overall responsibility for asset accounting of major projects. From time to time, you will also be required to provide financial advice as input to portfolio activities.

Responsibilities:
Leadership
Assist the Finance Manager in building the finance team to meet the challenges of a significant growth for the next few years as well as to adequately plan for a transfer of experience within the department to minimize any disruption from retirement/ and regular staff rotation.
Coach the relatively junior members of the finance team to ensure minimal disruption in the transition into the GSAP/Streamline business process.
GSAP migration
Understand the manufacturing business rapidly in order to anticipate impact of GSAP implementation and propose solution accordingly.
Gain an in-depth knowledge of the Chemical business model. This is to prepare for the pilot in Bukom for the Oil & Chemical project interface.
Work with Chemical business to prepare for the operational support (system and staff selection) of the mega project when it cuts over into operational status by 2010.
Project Economics and Accounting.
Bukom is projected to have exponential growth in the next few years through new investments. Finance has a critical role in the project evaluation and capex accounting of these new investments.
Maintain good working relationship with stakeholders and professionalism while scrutinizing profitability assumptions, contracting strategy, and accounting rule.

Requirements:
Minimum 7 years post qualification experience in Financial Management and Accounting, with at least 2 years leading a team.
Qualified accountant with a related degree. An economics background is advantageous.
Knowledge and experience is required in Corporate reporting procedures, specifically on the Capital budgeting and the Planning aspect.
Ability to understand the business, work with colleagues in different discipline and communicate requirements effectively.
Ability to work with people in the virtual global environment in Global Manufacturing and Finance organization that is geographically and culturally diverse.
You will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision.
Self-starter with a track record for delivery.
Prior SAP experience in a project or capital intensive industry is an important. advantage.
Knowledge of Refinery business is preferred.
