Pipeline Engineer

Responsibilities:
This role is similar to GS6: Subsea Pipeline Engineer. Please do NOT re-apply if you have applied for that vacancy. Your application is automatically considered.

We provide a wide range of pipeline services from initial feasibility, through engineering, construction and operation, to decommissioning, and deliver these services to up, mid and down-stream operators both from within and outside the Shell Group. As part of the team, you will be required to
• lead or actively contribute to pipeline engineering and multi discipline engineering studies and projects
• undertake pipeline studies including: concept & feasibility studies; front-end engineering; hydraulic studies; pipeline routing studies, cost estimating, construction reviews
• undertake the pipeline related activities of capacity enhancement and asset integrity studies
• participate in technical reviews/audits, and pipeline integrity reviews
• manage and review work carried out by external engineering consultants
• support the development and acquisition of new pipeline business opportunities in the region
Requirements:
• You should have a minimum of 8 to 12 years of pipeline engineering experience in the oil & gas industry primarily in onshore but also the offshore environment.
• We require you to have a minimum of 6 years broad experience of pipelines in both front-end design and project execution/installation.
• At least 4 years experience of pipeline engineering in a consultancy or technical support role.
• Experience (design, operation and management) of pipeline product transmission and distribution systems would be advantageous.
• You must be familiar with international design codes for pipelines.
• Good working knowledge of pipeline hydraulics, mechanical design, control and protection systems, repair methods, and pipeline technology.
• An understanding of the materials and corrosion issues associated with pipeline developments.
• Excellent communication and inter-personal skills and proven ability to work with limited supervision.
