GS6: Technologist - Light Ends Conversion
Responsibilities:
Our group provides technical support services to client refiners both within and outside the Shell Group in the areas of catalytic reforming, alkylation, isomerisation and polymerisation from offices in Amsterdam, Houston and Kuala Lumpur. Our efforts are geared to selecting the best licenser technology and catalysts available on the market and to achieving pacesetting performance at our customer refineries. As part of the team, your responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting, monitoring and optimisation of unit operations;
• Lead/participate in revamps and new design projects;
• Technology developments and innovation;
• Inspection of internals, start-up, shutdown, regeneration and catalyst handling;
• Selection of optimal catalyst for site-specific feed/operating conditions;
• Interaction with and evaluation of technology suppliers;
• Leading and organizing information exchange conferences & customer training courses.

Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years refinery operations support experience including two years in the areas of platforming/catalytic reforming and/or alkylation.
• Applicants with hydrocracking experience will also be considered and isomerisation experience is an added advantage.
• Experience with Pro II and other modeling/simulation tools.
• Refinery economics & scheduling knowledge as well as experience in design and project related work will be advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the flexibility/ability to work effectively as a member of virtual global teams is highly desirable.
• Experienced in making presentations and writing technical reports.
• These are high profile positions with an international remit and traveling will be required.
