The Drilling Supervisor is the leading Company representative on the drilling rig or work-over unit. His/Her role is to manage the team on the drilling rig, to plan and prioritize activities and to use their expert knowledge to resolve operational problems to achieve the Company objectives safely and efficiently. The Drilling supervisor plays a vital role in providing leadership on the rig and ensuring alignment with Company principles, vision and key objectives, and legislative requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage the day-to-day operations associated with the well, including planning and scheduling, resource allocation, cost control and the clear and concise reporting of all well site activities and events.
• Ensure full compliance with the Company HSE policy standards and objectives.
• Deliver high quality, cost-effective wells according to the approved well programmes and resolve operational problems as they arise.
• Optimise operational performance through the rigorous implementation of the “deliver the limit” (DtL) process without compromising HSE, well integrity, or the integrity of the drilling unit.
• Identify and collate of lessons learned which can be incorporated in future operations.
• Manage the interface with other Company Assets.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the drilling and related services contracts. Identify areas for improvement and propose enhancement initiatives.
• Manage and coach the drilling and service contractor staff in the DtL process and during the implementation of new drilling technology.
• Develop a clear understanding and alignment with all personnel regarding the Company's policies strategies and specific well objectives.
• Role model and champion the Company's values and behaviour in the field environment and provide clear HSE leadership and direction with respect to the day-to-day operational activities.

Required Skills/Experience: The Company has a wide variety of well types ranging from shallow oil production wells to very deep high-pressure high-temperature (HPHT) gas exploration wells. The scope of the drilling supervisor’s responsibilities and challenges are similar although the required knowledge and experience will increase for the more complex well types.As a suitable candidate you must have a relevant bachelors degree or equivalent qualification and at least 8 years of rig based drilling experience, at least 4 years of which will have been in the role of a drilling supervisor. The selected candidate will have the ability to immediately and effectively fulfil the role of the drilling supervisor and will be able to achieve the objective with minimal support from the existing well engineering organisation. An IWCF certificate is mandatory.
Minimum Experience: 5 years
Maximum Experience: 20 years

Remuneration: 50000 - 120000 US Dollars/year
